Really Useful Calculator is exactly that – an easy-to-use digital calculator that may come in very handy to perform not only all the basic operations but also some convenient tax-related calculations. However, its main asset is the fact that you can easily create your own functions and complex calculations with it, save them for later use, and even assign a function key to them.
The calculator’s layout is pretty average – not being a scientific calculator, you will easily recognize all the keys on it. Probably the only two keys you may not be familiar with are the “+Tax” and the “-Tax” buttons. These will allow you to perform one-click tax additions and subtractions. To make use of these keys, you will need to select a tax value first, which will also be used by the program in other built-in functions, such as “Tax to Net”, “Gross to Tax”, “Net to Tax”, and “Tax to Gross” calculations. Referred to internally as “T”, you can use this constant value to create your own functions, be them tax-related or not. These new functions can be saved under a name of your choice, and linked to a function key for quicker access (limited to three function keys).
All in all, an excellent free utility with the looks of a simple calculator and some interesting added functionality underneath.
